Location and Height:
Annapurna is a massif in the Himalayas, located in north-central Nepal. It is known for its towering peaks, and Annapurna I is the highest among them. Annapurna I stands at an elevation of 8,091 meters (26,545 feet) above sea level, making it the 10th highest mountain in the world.

First Ascent:
Annapurna was the first 8,000-meter peak to be climbed. The historic ascent took place on June 3, 1950, by a French expedition led by Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal. However, the achievement came at a great cost, as many climbers suffered severe frostbite, and Herzog himself lost all his fingers and toes due to frostbite during the descent.

Annapurna Circuit:
Annapurna Circuit is a renowned trekking route that encircles the Annapurna massif, providing trekkers with breathtaking views of the Himalayas and a diverse range of landscapes. This trek usually takes about 15 to 20 days to complete and covers a distance of approximately 230 kilometers (140 miles). Trekkers pass through lush subtropical forests, terraced fields, quaint villages inhabited by diverse ethnic groups, and high mountain desert terrain.
